- Health Education: RDF has been conducting a project entitled “Swasthay Chautari” in the support of World Education in the different wards of 24 VDCs of Dhanusha District. Altogether 3,555 women and young Girls participate in the activities. The Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHV) conduct sharing and discussion sessions on different aspects, problems and issues of health, focusing on Sexual and Reproductive Health, including of STI and HIV/AIDS. The sessions are conducted once a month for two hours.
- Prevention, care and support to fight HIV/AIDS: RDF has been implementing a project entitled: “Safe Highways: Prevention Program in Dhanusha and Mahottari Districts” of Nepal in support of Family Health International (FHI). RDF conducted a Rapid Assessment in Dhanusha and Mahottari districts to identify current pockets of High Risk Areas from April –June’06 in Dhanusha and Mahottari districts in support of Family Health International/Nepal. The expected output of the assessment was: A district profile with detailed information on the health sector service delivery system and the HIV/AIDS projects in the district developed, and a detailed report of the Assessment on High Risk Areas in Dhanusha and Mahottari Districts. The included methodologies were:

On the basis of these findings RDF has been implementing a project entitled: “Safe Highways: Prevention Program in Dhanusha and Mahottari Districts” of Nepal in support of ASHA/Project, Family Health International (FHI) since October 01, 2006. The goal of the project is “to reduce high risk behaviors of STI, HIV/AIS transmission among FSWs and their clients in Dhanusha and Mahottari districts”. This project runs as of finding the high risk population especially Female Sex Workers (FSWs) and their clients along with highways of Program area and analyzing their risk related to Sexual Transmitted Infection (STI) and Volunteer Counseling and Testing (VCT) and lastly referring to the clinics organized in collaboration with AMDA Nepal. RDF hold a close coordination with District Aids Coordination Committee (DACC), District Public Health Office (DPHO), Reproductive Health Coordination Committed (RHCC), and different line agencies including stakeholders to provide care and support to the people who are being suffered with HIV/AIDS. RDF facilitates to form the group of People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA), found in program area and supports the group to register and link with national PLHA network.
- Cycle Ambulance: RDF has been providing Cycle ambulances in support of ITDG in rural area to make easy to carry emergency patient in order to get them health facilities as soon as possible. RDF has made cycle ambulance available in Primary Health Center, Health Post of Saptari, Sunsari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi and Nawalparasi. This ambulance can run with bicycle and Motorcycle. This program has got its height and still it is being provided at necessary area.
